Christian Werner, geboren 1959 in Berlin, studierte Industrial-Design in Berlin und Hamburg. Seit der Gründung seines eigenen Studios für Produktgestaltung im Jahre 1992 in Hamburg lebt und arbeitet der Designer heute in der Hansestadt. Neben der Kreation zahlreicher Möbel, Leuchten und Accessoires für namhafte Herstellermarken ist Christian Werner auch als Innenarchitekt für die Gestaltung von Läden, Restaurants und Messeständen für renommierte Kunden tätig. Für Ligne Roset hat er das seit Jahren erfolgreiche Möbelprogramm EVERYWHERE das Bett ANNA, das Schlafzimmerprogramm HIDE & SEEK und viele andere Modelle entworfen. Mit dem neuen Sitzmöbel PRADO hat der Designer Christian Werner ein besonders gelungenes Funktionssofa entworfen, ähnlich wie Pascal Mourgue mit dem Modell SMALA im Jahre 2000. Das Modell überzeugt nicht nur ästhetisch, sondern auch durch die Einbeziehung aktueller Lebensstile. Einleitend zu seinem Entwurf, zitiert er Henry Ford ''Ich bleibe nicht stehen, wenn ich sitzen kann. Ich bleibe nicht sitzen, wenn ich liegen kann'' und betont dabei, dass die Suche nach größtmöglicher Nutzungsfreiheit und Wohlbefinden bei der Entwicklung dieses Modells entscheidend waren. PRADO besteht aus einer übergroßen Sitzfläche und Einzelrückenlehnen, die man je nach Lust und Laune frei positionieren kann, um Form und Funktion des Sofas zu variieren. Die Freiheit ist für den Nutzer ohne Einschränkung, da diese Rückenlehnen durch ihr eigenes Gewicht und dank einer rutschfesten Unterseite auf der Sitzfläche gehalten werden und keinerlei Befestigung benötigen. Man kann sie sogar zeitweise auf dem Boden benutzen, während man die Liegefläche zum Beispiel als Bett einsetzt, indem man das auf der Rückseite mit Drell bezogene Sitzkissen umdreht. Der Couch- und der Beistelltisch ODA sind eine optimale Ergänzung für das Sofa PRADO. Mit dem Couchtisch lassen sich Eck-Gruppen bilden, der Beistelltisch lässt sich durch die überstehende Platte gut über der Sitzfläche positionieren und als praktische Ablage für nützliche Gegenstände einsetzen.
