Christian Werner, born in Berlin in 1959, studied industrial design in Berlin and Hamburg. Since founding his own studio for product design in Hamburg in 1992, the designer has lived and worked in the Hanseatic city. In addition to creating numerous pieces of furniture, lamps and accessories for well-known manufacturer brands, Christian Werner also works as an interior designer for the design of stores, restaurants and trade fair stands for renowned clients. For Ligne Roset, he has designed the EVERYWHERE furniture range, which has been successful for many years, the ANNA bed, the HIDE & SEEK bedroom range and many other models. With the new PRADO seating furniture, designer Christian Werner has created a particularly successful functional sofa, similar to Pascal Mourgue's SMALA model in 2000. The model is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also incorporates current lifestyles. As an introduction to his design, he quotes Henry Ford ''I don't stand when I can sit. I don't stay seated when I can lie down'' and emphasizes that the search for the greatest possible freedom of use and well-being were decisive in the development of this model. PRADO consists of an oversized seat and individual backrests that can be freely positioned to vary the shape and function of the sofa according to your mood. The freedom is unrestricted for the user, as these backrests are held in place on the seat by their own weight and thanks to a non-slip underside and do not require any fastening. They can even be used temporarily on the floor while the reclining surface is used as a bed, for example, by turning the seat cushion covered with Drell on the back. The ODA coffee table and side table are the perfect complement to the PRADO sofa. The coffee table can be used to form corner groups, while the side table can be easily positioned above the seat thanks to the protruding top and can be used as a practical shelf for useful objects.
