''We have tried to create a particularly comfortable sofa with a contemporary design. PLOUM has a generous shape in which the whole body sits on a cozy and soft surface. The organic shape offers a relatively low seat depth. The use of a stretch fabric for the upholstery is symbolic of a contemporary lifestyle in which flexibility of use and comfort seem essential to us. We conceived the sofa like a ripe, tasty fruit.'' This is how Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec describe their design, which takes into account the special moments of the day when each of us wants to relax or meet with others in the home. The aim was to provide the greatest possible comfort to allow the body to relax in all possible positions, from the traditional sitting position to the reclining position. The large 3-seater with its special semi-circular shape turns the users towards each other, around a common point. The PLOUM sofas are the result of research into comfort. It is based on the special combination of two materials: the stretch cover and a particularly soft foam. Combined with generous dimensions, the combination of these materials offers exceptional comfort and the possibility of different body positions. Thanks to its elasticity, the quilted stretch cover covers the continuous round shape of the seat, backrest and armrests in one piece. The cover is extremely stretchy and allows the upholstery to adapt to the weight and shape of the body. It can quickly regain its original shape, ensuring the longevity of the sofas.
