The first building block for this continuous development was laid by Werner Horst Senior in 1930. In 1933, the focus was on the production of wicker furniture and rattan items. Even after the Second World War, the company continued to grow steadily. The expansion of upholstered furniture production by Werner Horst junior in the 1960s was an outstanding achievement and marked the birth of the traditional Horst furniture collection. By the 1970s at the latest, customer demands for variety and originality in the models were steadily increasing. The response to this situation was rapid and extremely successful. Horst AG had recognized the signs of the times early on with 50 basic models in 30 upholstery fabric variants as well as in different colors and leather finishes and provided the appropriate response.
