This week in our magazine, we're looking at home trends that will take your interior to the next level. These materials are not only straight from nature, but are the icing on the cake for a luxurious interior with that certain something. You've probably guessed it from the title: We're talking about furniture made of natural stone such as marble or with the so-called terrazzo pattern. We explain what is special about stone furniture and what advantages such pieces of furniture offer.

Marble furniture: what you can expect

Elegant, noble, a genuine natural product. Marble has been used in interior design for centuries, whether in the form of imposing statues or as flooring. The use of marble is therefore nothing new. Nevertheless, the combination of stone with high-quality materials is one of our favorite trends today. The unusual patterns attract everyone's attention. Why is marble worthwhile?

• The uniqueness: the shiny, shimmering surface of the natural stone, also appropriately called marbling, is unique. If you own something made of marble, you have a truly unique piece.
• The properties: among other things, marble is waterproof. A glass of water knocked over - but nothing will happen to your marble living room table. The vase on the sideboard with marble top was leaking? No problem, because you don't have to worry.
• Durability: Marble furniture is very durable, as the robust surface is not very susceptible to damage. The marble living room table and other marble furnishings are simply timelessly beautiful and will never lose their aesthetic appeal.
• The color variation marble is a mixture of different materials such as calcite and dolomite. Different proportions have resulted in color variations such as grey marble, white marble, green marble or even white marble.

Terrazzo furniture: stone after stone

But it's not just marble that appeals to us. Terrazzo furniture is an exciting change for the eye when it comes to interior design. This product has also been known since ancient Greece. The material, which was originally only used as a floor covering, is made from a binding agent such as lime or cement with additives such as marble or limestone. This creates a mottled pattern that is ideal for the kitchen or bathroom, for example.

The advantages of the terrazzo pattern are manifold:

• The unique pattern provides your eye with an exciting change in otherwise plainly designed rooms. With a piece of furniture in terrazzo look, you can create a successful eye-catcher that nobody will get tired of.
• As this material is a stone mix, you benefit from its durability and robustness. The material simply forgives you everything and is particularly hard-wearing. Cleaning is another plus point: terrazzo is waterproof. Simply wipe over it and everything is clean again.
