Glamor interior design style & luxury furniture

This living style is pompous, a little ostentatious and yet incredibly elegant! We're talking about the glamor design furnishing style. Today we're taking you into the world of luxury, velvet and silk and showing you what's important when it comes to glamorous living! Let the furnishing style inspire you. Perhaps you'll find a new piece of jewelry or two?

Designer furniture - exclusive furnishings

The glamorous furnishing style impresses with one thing above all: exclusivity. It does not consist of off-the-peg furniture. Quite the opposite: it can be something special, something extraordinary! This style of living is comparable to the baroque furniture of the past, which made every drawing room presentable with its pomp and elegance. The motto is to splash out rather than splash out.

The glamorous furnishings are anything but straightforward. The inspiration behind it? The curvy lines of the female figure, because back then a full, voluminous body was a sign of wealth and sensuality. So we move in curved lines that together create a harmonious image. The noble character is created, for example, by curved legs on the opulent armchair or the elegant dining table. The headboard on the bedcan also rise upwards magnificently and be decorated with ornaments.

Baroque furniture: materials & colors

The heyday of Baroque was between 1575 and 1770, when the style spread from Italy to the rest of Europe and the world. You are certainly familiar with its full splendor: We are talking about the Palace of Versailles, which Louis XIV had built. Typical of the era was the view of the overall work of art: everything harmonized with each other, everything fitted together. This trend is also continued in the glamorous style of living. Fabrics such as velvet and velour provide soft surfaces. Silk is also a popular choice.

Sofas and other upholstered furniture are given a truly baroque and glamorous look with so-called capitoning. The cover is fixed to the furniture with buttons at regular intervals and is given the typical diamond pattern that you have probably seen in baroque castles. This type of exclusive furniture is definitely something to behold.

But it's not just soft fabrics that play an important role in the glamorous furnishing style. Metal and crystal also have their shining moments. Used as handles and fittings on chests of drawers and larger cabinets made of dark wood - it couldn't be more elegant. Reflective surfaces on tables and other furniture are further eye-catchers with a baroque charm. When it comes to lighting, it couldn't be more sparkling: chandeliers are the perfect choice if you want to go for luxury and glamor.

What does the Baroque color palette look like? Well, the royal purple of the royal robe probably comes to everyone's mind. Trimmed with white ermine fur, it's a real showpiece. Don't worry, you don't have to expect real fur with glamor style. But with the strong red tone and other tones in this color family, you certainly can. Purple and soft pink are a playful combination. Dark blue, black, gold and gray add modern, luxurious accents.

Our verdict on this furnishing style: despite its opulence and pomp, this elegant living style exudes plenty of charm. The combination of fine woods, soft fabrics and bold colors is a real feast for the eyes. Designer furniture is the be-all and end-all here. If this style of furnishing is too traditional for you, you can add modern accents with just a few details. Everything can, nothing has to - the main thing is that the overall picture fits!
