Designer furniture from COR - German craftsmanship at MöbelFirst
MöbelFirst cooperates with the best and most well-known furnishing brands in Germany and Europe. Probably the best example of this is the collaboration with COR. The brand from Rheda-Wiedenbrück in Westphalia stands for timeless designs of seating furniture that are durable, sustainable and of high quality and are produced with passion and precision at the company headquarters. Nomen est omen: after all, COR is the Latin word for heart. The company was founded in 1954 and is still owned by the Lübke family today. 140 production employees ensure perfect furniture and a whole ten departments - including wood production, basic upholstery, cutting, sewing and upholstery - pass through a piece of COR furniture from the first work step to its dispatch. Every piece of COR furniture is checked at least eight times during the manufacturing process - as can be seen from the quality control label that is included with every product. All this shows: When you buy COR furniture, you are buying a cultural asset. Made in Germany.
COR exhibition pieces - high comfort meets excellent design
COR continuously organizes product training courses for its retail partners at the company headquarters in COR-Haus (definitely worth a visit!). This is because there is a selection of 500 fabric and leather covers available for the upholstered furniture, all of which have different material properties. This is a science in itself. So if you want to give customers good advice, you literally have to delve deep into the subject matter. This is exactly what the MöbelFirst team does. The customer advisors on the online platform for affordable designer and brand-name furniture are in constant contact with COR. Whenever there are new fabrics and material properties, the MöbelFirst team is the first to know about them. They have years of expertise in all aspects of COR's furniture collections - this includes chairs such as "Alvo" and "Noto", armchairs such as "COR Cordia", "Pilotis" or "Sinus", sofas such as "Trio", "Moss", "COR Mell" or the absolute classic model "COR Conseta". But the COR product portfolio also includes side tables (e.g. "Twin" or "Tablo"), tables (e.g. "Conic", "Delta" or "Level"), chairs (e.g. "Cordia", "Fino"), benches (e.g. "Nenou") and bar stools (e.g. "Drop"). The MöbelFirst customer advisors are also very familiar with these. You will also find COR coffee tables and other COR upholstered furniture among our COR exhibits.
COR and MöbelFirst - a successful collaboration
But this close partnership with COR was not enough for the two MöbelFirst founders Christoph Ritschel and Dennis Franken. They wondered whether they could institutionalize their close relationship with the top furnishing brand in some way. So last year they asked Leo Lübke, the COR owner and managing director, whether he would be available to join the online portal as a member of the advisory board. And, typical of the open-minded person and entrepreneur Leo Lübke, he immediately took a liking to intensifying the dialog between trade and industry in the advisory board constellation. Albert Türklitz, owner and Managing Director of Möbel Hübner, and Frank Sommerlad, owner and Managing Director of Möbelstadt Sommerlad, were also willing to join him on the committee.
The advisory board meets twice a year to discuss strategic issues and develops concrete measures to support the stationary specialist trade, i.e. the MöbelFirst partners:
"MöbelFirst's mission is to strengthen the stationary specialist trade. We do this with the COR brand with handcrafted products and attractive marketing packages. We are therefore united by the idea that we can help specialist retailers by each doing what we know best," says Leo Lübke about the constellation. And MöbelFirst founder Christoph Ritschel adds: "Möbel First offers specialist retailers digital marketing opportunities and creates space for new products on the sales floor when display items and remnants are sold online. Our furniture retailers are all owner-managed family businesses and we want to develop new solutions for them that strengthen the brick-and-mortar business alongside sales and make it fit for the future."
Cooperation as a matter of the heart
Customers benefit from the close cooperation with manufacturers. They receive expert advice and, in the vast majority of cases, a positive solution is found for all parties involved when it comes to warranty issues. "We know the value of good relationships with furniture brands, for us as a company, but above all for the customers who buy their new favorite furniture through MöbelFirst. The fact that we can set such standards in our collaboration with COR fills us with pride and joy," says MöbelFirst founder Dennis Franken.
